S282 Boiler won't fill with water?
After I did the S282 restoration, the boiler seemed to not fill with water even after leaving the injector on for like 2 minutes.

Boiler is 2 and a halve tenders big. keep injecting. its about 20 minutes if i remember right, but i could be off be a couple of minutes. And if the tender is empty, refill the tender and inject it all again. After you filled the tender a 3rd time (or second refil, however you count it) its a couple of more minutes... i dont really remember if its 2.2 or 2.6 tenders of water.... but it takes...

Does it always take a thousand years to fill the water tank on the SO60 or S282? Like the gauge literally never fills if it is bone dry yet full when I filled it at the museum seconds prior?? Seriously I don't understand unless it does take forever I don't know why I had spend a nice 74K just because I can't tell if the thing is filled

All random lokomotives spawn with operating lvl of water in the boiler. Your demonstrator never looses the water after you filled it in, unless you let it out (via the blow off). So in general usage, normally, you have to fill it only once: after restoring the locomotive.
However, if you operate it wrong (leave the blow off valve open) or have an accidant (boiler explosion) you might have to repeat the process on the demonstrator.

On a random 282, if it gets repaired by insurance or when the fee is payed it gets refilled by the service team. Only if you manually repair it you need to fill it up if you use it after the manual repair. When you let it despawn it will be refilled on next spawn.

You can easyly tell when it is full by looking at the sight glass, thats what it is for. How can you "not be able to tell" if you see water in the sight glass or not?

I am filling the S282 for the first time since repairing, the water level will absolutely not increase, this has happened with other steam engines when you completely drain it from using it. I know they've made attempts to fix the water transparency but I still have trouble,

When i filled the S060 it never filled so It just exploded but after repairing the thing it "fixed" the issue and the water level indicated water like it supposed too, so I'll likely have to do it again

How many tenders/side tanks have you emptied, and what difficulty are you playing on? On standard it should take around 1.5 before you see any change. If you've emptied 3 and still don't see anything in the sight glass there could be another issue, e.g. the blowdown being open

re. visibility: the angled stripes behind the glass reverse their angle when refracted by water. It should be easy to check just by looking at these stripes

If you're swimming in money, the fastest thing you can do is fire her up, let here go cthulhu-mode then repair her. Water level will be normal after repairing. It will cost 200k however.

Yeah I just purposely derailed it with the turn table but I guess I need to blow it but out of money I had 1M but buying these locos drained me but i'll figure it out
