Have you checked by Forest South or some of the other "remote" locations? usually those have a DE2
I believe that Oil Well Central is (always or normally) a DE6 and that both farm and City alternate DE6 or DE2 . So assuming 50:50 on those two alternating situations you had a 1 in 4 chance of 3 x DE6 .
2 Have you checked HB (Harbor)? I remembered there is always 1 DE2 in the power track, and round house always has at least 1 for all 3 types of locomotives, so there are always at least 2 DE2s in HB.
3 How many DE2s in your train? It seems like if there are too many DE2s in the station (usually in player's train), there will be less DE2s spawn in station, they usually spawn DE6 instead.
1. No mods, playing in VR.
2. No, I'm heading north now. I might take a harbour run after that, though if there are none in Machine Factory, Iron Mine or Food Factory, something's definitely off.
3. Just a single DE6. I wanted to couple in shunter to the back for convenience, but no luck.
No shunter, No Yard! ...Sorry, I'm just joking :)
However, shunters are an important part of the yards.
In the future, "S060" Steam Shunter, "DM3" Diesel Shunter, and "DH4" Diesel Road-Switcher will be implemented, and I personally expect that all of them will be attractive shunting locos.
I think it will be good system that one of these shunting locos always randomly spawn in each yards.
(I don't know if "Micro Shunter" will be useful for major shunting job.)
And, multiple main line locos will also be implemented, but I have no idea what kind of spawning system is good for main line locos.
Currently, there are only 3 types of locos, so there are almost no problems.
The problem comes when the number of loco types increases.
The devs have announced plans to implement 11 different types of locos. (Including passenger cars and crew vehicles.)
If all of this is completely random spawning, I guess it will be very difficult to find the loco you need.
It interferes with our choice of work so should be avoided too bad luck spawning.
(Of course, it is out of the question for electric locos and EMUs to spawn in non-electrified sections!)
