SO60 loud screeching
Just yoinked my first steam engine and it has this unbearable screeching noise constantly. At first I thought I left the breaks on but both the brake levers were pulled back and the handbrake wheel but it still making a wheel slip noise. My next thought was it was applying to much power but it happens the moment I start moving as well. Any advice??

This happens when the valve gear doesn't get any oil, either by not turning on the lubricator or letting it run out of oil. You should be able to refill the oil and run it around for a few minutes to make the sound go away; but this has a chance of bugging out the audio and you will have to abandon the loco.

Not turning on the lubricator will also result in a big repair bill. You will find them on both steamers near the cylinder on the right side.
