Slug controls?

Apologies if this is a stupid question. Are there any controls for the slug? I know it has no engine. But is there a breaker box to toggle the electrics and TMs? I've done a couple of walk rounds and can't see anything.

There are no breakers on a slug. You connect its MU cable to a locomotive and you're good to go.

Thanks for the quick answer. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't dragging round a 130 tonne paper weight because I missed an On switch hidden somewhere.

The only thing it has is the handbrake, and that is off when it spawns. I dont know the reasoning if that is a bug or a feature, i guess its the later as it prevents players that are not aware of the handbrake from using the slug with handbrake on. Little inconvinient if you spawn it on a grade, but if you know it eaven there its not a problem.

i have both MU's connected to my slug with 2 DE-2s and the slug does absolutely nothing but work the lights

If I leave the handbrake on it is still on when I summon it. Same with the other two.

The slug only increases your traction, no extra power to whatever loco attached to. It's great when combined with the DE6.

^^ Hence, think of it not as a way to increase your raw pulling power but as a way to distribute your existing power across more axles. That way, you can use more throttle at lower speeds without running into wheel slip or overheating your traction motors. The cost of this is increased EMF which reduces the train's top speed.
