Tutorial: Service Point

I'm at the point in the tutorial when it says "Go forward slowly and park the train into the service point."

I'm kind of stuck; I guess I'm not lining up the train correctly. I assume I should pull up to the prop which looks like a fuel pump and cash register?

At one point it said I overshot the "junction" and I should back up - I did that, but it is not letting me continue with the tutorial. I have the loco just to the left of the pump.

I had the same problem. It doesn't want you to park the loco at the service point but the entire train, loco and carriage, inside the service point shed. So drive forward as far as you can, right up to the butter. It doesn't matter if you hit it if you do it really slowly.

It turns out I was at the steam service point.

dont park at the grey service point for steamers, park in the shed with the diesel. You dont need water you need diesel fuel.

There's a bug where if you don't do things a certain way around the Steel Mill switch, you can get stuck. A new build with the fix is coming out later today most probably.

For now I suggest loading the latest save from the tutorial (the point where you're leaving the tutorial depot) and redoing that bit.

The problem is that the steam service point looks like a service point and is in the center of the map, so the player can be tempted to not look down to the verry bottom of the map and see that there is a second service point on the map which is the one he should use.
Yes, its in the legend on the first page which service point is which, but a lot of players just flip to the steelmill page and ignore the legend.

True, there's that too. It's on the to-do list to be fixed, the tutorial will specify which one it means.

Same problem, i parked in the shed, tried uncoppeling, engine off, move back and forwurd, no luck, I just stared again without the tutorial

Make sure youre not confusing it with the steam service point (which is something I did to begin with). The Legend on page 1 shows what they both look like. The diesel service point is at the bottom of the map page. It worked ok for me a couple days ago so maybe check mods if youre running any.

you just skip the checkpoint and the game still waits for you to reach it
just go back to the first switch and ur good

I think a lot of people do that; I know I did. It tells you to go to the service point while it has you parked pretty much in front (or at least in view) of the wrong one, while the correct one is nowhere in sight.
