[SH282] Question about excess water from the injector
After the Simulator update, if you leave the injector open, does excess water:
1. return to the tender?
2. prime/overfill the boiler and damage pistons?
3. just go to waste without affecting boiler or pistons?

Looks like you're right. I parked next to a water tower with the tender in range, turned on the injector, and it keeps draining. Now, I'll check if the pistons are flooded.

Update: The fistons are flooded by excess water, it seems. I traveled at high speed for a few kilometers with the ♥♥♥♥♥ opens, but the water sound persists; normally, it should not take so long to clear the pistons from water from staying put with the regulator closed.

So, it looks like the answer is Number 2:
Excess waters overflow the pistons and go to waste.

I tested this. Boiler overfilled, reverser full forward, throttle cracked open +/- 30%, cylinder open for about 4 strokes then closed. Smoke very black so no efficient combustion but that seems always the case. Then suddenly a sound pops-up indicating big loss of water somewhere. Outside view shows nothing. Than, hooray! One of the cylinders pops, steam sprouting out. I believe there should be water coming through the chimney but that is not modelled obviously. Time for insurance phonecall.

Injector only fills the boiler, blowoff valve drains the water from the boiler out. No way back from boiler. Overfilling the boiler to much the water will flow into the cylinders and cause damage there.

That is what I found by experiment also.
