Fast Travel.

I'm new to this game and I was wondering how do you unlock fast traveling?

You take your world map, then you hold alt on your keyboard and click on the town you would like to fast travel to, if you want to fast travel with the locomotive, then you have to be in the locomotive i believe. Hope this helps.

Just be careful about travelling with locomotive. Don't do it twice to the same place without moving the loco. (This may be fixed in Simulator).

I assume jobs never run out right?

Once you accept a job, it doesn't go away. Otherwise jobs vanish once you move more than 1km from the station office (or move to another industry). Really old jobs will add a penalty. You can discard a job you don't want by tossing it in the dumpster next to a station office.

they don't run out, however once you have done all of the shunting/loading/unloading jobs there will be jobs to move the loaded/empty cars to different industries/cities. if you don't want to leave a particular area, you can always try exiting the area and coming back
