how does the dynamic brake work? what does it do?
I just got the de6, and alongside the train brake and independent brake, it has a dynamic brake. what does it do?

I didn't realize that it wasn't working in the game, as I never progressed far enough to get a DE6 :)..
The way it is supposed to work is that the current is switched in such a way (reversed I think) that the moving train and wheels turn against the electric motor such that it acts like a generator. So it works best while moving faster, ironically, and works less when moving slow, and is useless at very low speeds. You would use this when going down long grades, so as to not use up mechanical brakes or use up your air.
I apologize to any engineers out there if I hacked up this answer. I get the general concept but I'm not sure if that's exactly how it works. :)
