Have you linked them with the blue Multiple Unit cable?

If yes: The controls are linked, you may drive from either cab. If you're using shunters, be aware that only the front locomotive will have full airflow for cooling.

If no: The controls will not link until you have the Multiple Unit lisence and connect both locos using this cable.

Yes. Yes. Note there is one thing that is independent between them and that is switching them on and off - that must be done on each loco.

Yep, much better to climb hills. As others have said, you can power them up individually and you can have the rear once powerd and control in the front cab. So when needing extra power just add the front one, in chich you are in anyway.
The towing capacity does not double in my experience, but pretty close to it.

thats difficult to say the load the cars have is importent too empty cars you will get easyer a hill up as a train with gasoline

one shunter can carry max 400 t so 2 units can carry 800 t normaly it is good to stay 200 t under the max carry number

Yes, and depending on the route, even more is possible.
You can pull more than 400t from e.g. OWN to HB. Just make sure you got enough momentum going uphill south of Steel Mill. 60 kmh will be good.

Reaching OMN with 400t will hardly be possible. You need to stop to cool down, but then you won't get momentum again.

Someone ever did it up to OWN with 400t and the shunter?

I consider that only accurate if I'm shunting. For hauls, I assume more like 300 t, maybe 350 if I can expect a mostly flat or downhill run.

Same here, 300t on easy route, 200t on medium route per shunter. You can bring 3,4 or eaven 5 of them though if you really want big trains. But since that means you are pulling around the weight of all the shunters with you its not overly economical.

By bigger trains its better to take the DE6 you dont need to couple tons of other locos then
