It is possible to map keyboard keys to be used instead of scroll:

1. Go to steamapps\common\Derail Valley\DerailValley_Data\SaveGameData\
2. Open GamePreferences.ini
3. Assign desired keys to alternativeScrollWheelUp and alternativeScrollWheelDown values
4. Save the file
5. Run the game

That should do the trick. Please let me know if it worked.

Do the first 2 steps of altfutures reply and where it says comms radio spawn make it say true

I can not get the key bindings to operate the train. all the other keys do what they are supposed to and i have checked the key bindings file multiple times

There are difficulty options that limit train operation to being inside the train or (possibly) disabled. Afair its up top the difficulty settings list.
