Station Map question

How can you tell which track your on in the station map ?

if you look at the normal map, north is the top (compare that to the station map compass markers) to know whether your entering and going left x-amount of tracks or right

at the station each track has a sign with the track ID number

I suggested some time ago that it would be good if we could zoom in on the main map to a level where it displayed the individual tracks at stations and your position on them.
There was no response at the time so I presume it's not something they are considering.
I'm not a programmer but perhaps one of the moding community could help.
