Is this game still at 30fps lock?
If so, then i will just not get it. Refuse to play games at 30fps anymore. Pretty dumb to not give peopel an option.

It still is, and most likely still will be.
And pretty dumb of you not to understand why such option wasn't given in the first place...

This thread again...

To be fair, I don't know if it's just me, but because of the art style and general bluriness of the game it bothers me much less than in other games.

It would seem FPS is harder to notice when almost everything in the game has such flowing and changing shapes.

Long story short, the original game on PS2 was programmed in such a way, that it's difficult to fix this, and since the game never sold very well, the budget for porting it was small, therefore 30 FPS lock it is.

Devs have said they tried to make it work but couldn't, a guy who is working on Special K mod for this game tried to make it work, but also said it's unlikely that he'll be able to fix it. There are hacks for console versions on emulators, but they also break things.

Recommend trying the game anyway and refunding if it really feels that bad to you. I normally am really bothered with low framerates since I mostly play in 100+ fps but in this game it didn't feel as bad as it usually does. It's an awesome game with just this one technical limitation, still worth checking out even if you're a framerate junky like me ;)

Adding onto Musk's comment, the devs themselves said that making the game 60fps "would take a monumental effort" Not even fan mod makers can really fix the problems that result from turning the game to 60fps, and they are massively game breaking problems. The Devs were transparent about this on social media, making it clear that it would take a humongous amount of time, effort, and of course money, to make it 60fps.

Just to add to what the others are saying. I'm most definitely an FPS snob, I go for better frame rates over anything else. Having said that, 30 is absolutely fine for this game, doesn't feel slow or choppy at all.

I didn't even know that the game was running at 30! It looks really smooth.

30fps is not smooth.

Eh, well i am glad you enjoy it, but i am not wasting my time on it. I understand now that its just something they can't do, but i don't plan on playing anything at 30fps.

Meh, your loss. Every other game I have on PC is 60 FPS so I'm used to that but I couldn't care less about the framerate here. Sure, it's not as silky smooth as 60 but there are zero stutters so it doesn't bother me.

Not to forget the game itself is great. You're missing a unique experience.

*Shrugs* Will miss out on other great games that i never heard of, nobody plays all the greats anyways. Though i am not sure if i would call this great, since i haven't played it.

thread commenters: give multiple valid, legitimate reasons as to why game isn't and can't be 60fps

op: turns nose up like a snob while at the same time acknowledging anything beyond 30fps is currently impossible

Haha hah.
