xBox 360 controller not working?

my friend uses an xBox 360 controller for this game and no matter what we try it refuses to work, he has restarted the game twice, he has steam overlay enabled, he went into big picture mode and configured, he tried unplugging and replugging the controller a few times. Nothing seems to work, anyone have any ideas on how to help with this issue?

have you try to run steam and game with admin privileges ?

and enable x360 controller support in steam controller config too

Here is the same thing. Only if I connect the control does it give some type of conflict and the game neither opens and locks Steam kkkkkkkkkk

Wow, so apparently even though windows is microsoft and so is xbox and their controllers, you still need to enable it on steam... 10/10 steam, fix your ♥♥♥♥. Thanks for the help guys.

I think it's capcom. The guys who made the pc port might assume that everyone who uses controllers for games also uses big picture. Seems likely to me, at least.

I had no problems with a DS4 (apart from it not detecting when I first launched the game, but other than that it worked every time for me). I've not used any input mapper / xinput wrapper to make it work, it just worked with no problems and without Big Picture mode. I remember fiddling with some controller settings on steam in the past, but can't tell you what I did back then and if this had any consequences to why it worked for me.

Its a problem with both Okami and UMVC 3, my xbox 360 controller works fine with say Mega Man Legacy Collection, Cuphead and hundreds of other games. Only, despite EVERYTHING I've tried and seen mentioned, neither will respond to my xbox 360 controller.

Make sure you choose the default profile made for the game when choosing the controls for the game.

Enable Xbox controller support in steam settings > controller.and restart steam (important). If you don't want to use big picture disable 'use big picture overlay whn steam cotroller is connected' in steam's in-game options. You won't be able to make control changes in-game though.
Oh, and if anyone wants to change camera sensitivity, change the right jostick to 'joystick mouse' in the steam controller config. That'll give you the option.
