Why Platinumgames and capcom don't try make Okami II?
Srsly, why? Platinumgames is amazing studio (except games that they make for cheap contract), with original ideas, pefect stoy and gameplay, etc, many who works in platinumgames worked on the first game, this game had cult status, platinumgames has good relationships with japan punblishers, holy ♥♥♥♥, everything talking that platinumgames must make Okami II? At least on the second chance series will make be very commerical succesfull, like what happened with nier? Just why it never happen?

From what I heard, Okami never sold very well (despite being awesome), so that's probably the biggest reason for not continuing the series. I could see Platinum making the sequel, but they don't have the rights to this IP - Capcom does. And Capcom probably wouldn't want to make a sequel, because that wouldn't be profitable enough. So unless they decide to sell the rights to the IP, there most likely won't be a sequel. Sad but true.

Hideki Kamiya wants it to happen, and given the number of ports Capcom is willing to make it doesn't seem like an impossibility. It's not incredibly likely, but we shouldn't rule it out.

Mix of didn't sell well and they also don't have the same team which makes it hard to make a good sequel fans would like. Meaning, it could potentially sell worse than the original which is a risk they probably wouldn't take. The best you could hope for at this point is a console/PC remake for the Okami-den sequel, not sure how likely that will ever be considering it wasn't even a console game, just a handheld.

It's easily overlooked, but Okami already DID receive a sequel -- Okamiden on the Nintendo DS.

You play as "Chibiterasu", the apparent offspring of Amaterasu. The game reprises many familiar areas, but adds some new ones (and some new brush powers too). Areas are partitioned into smaller zones than the original, but this is the DS we're talking about here. The story doesn't feel quite as grand as the original (in fact outright reprises it, darkness taking over the world and you have to stop it, etc.) but still epic in scope.

Okamiden feels like less of a sequel and more of a spin-off.

I bet he'd rather makes his own sequel as a phone game, knowing the guy. And he'd block anyone asking him anything.

The game was awesome but don't get seel well, but anyway, there is an episode "two" on Nintendo DS, called Okamiden, where you can play Amaterasu's son, Chibiterasu. Also, if Okami II were to come, I can barely imagine playing on the Celestia Plain :D

I think we all already know it. It's just that most opinions I've seen is that Okamiden is not a worthy sequel, but never said that it's not a good game. I haven't played it myself, so I kinda don't have the rights to give an opinion about it.

Though, if they decide to remake okamiden, I would be pleased, though I wish they add more content and new areas other than the locations in okami.

I wonder if a sequel would sell better though. Okami seems like it's just taken more time to gain a following, and I think since it's fairly well known now a sequel would do pretty good.

A sequel on pc and consoles would sell enough. The wii was shovelware console for moms and their daughters that didn't know a good game even if it smacked them in the face. They rather played cooking simulators.

While I disagree with that sentiment, I'm not sure what the Wii has to do with anything here. I mean yeah Okami was released on the Wii, but it was first on the PS2 and later on other consoles. Okamiden was on the DS.
