legend of mana, ps1 game...
There are tons of games for PC. Many console games (old and new ones) have been released for PC too. I have a PC so I have no need to buy a console if I want to play games, including games that can be considered "typical console games".
About the other suggestions:
I have played Psychonauts and Beyond Good and Evil.
Undertale is a fantastic game but I think it is a different genre. In fact, I think that undertale is great because it defies all genres and turnes everything upside down.
Both have a wonderful ambientation, astounishing story and a very enjoyable gameplay. Of course, since they are metroidvanias, you'll find a lot more of backtracking, but they won't spoil your gameplay.
Hope you like these!
(Also, sorry for my english mistakes, it's not my native language)
For me the most importent thing is story, so Planescape Torment and Disco Elysium would be my favourite games.
I like Okami also because of its art style and setting and the painting is also a great and unique game mechanic.
And I love weird stuff. Undertale was great (but I am terrible in bullit hell) and right now I play Virgo vs the Zodiac.
Child of Light
Owlboy
Dust - An Elysian Tail
Supraland (weaker story, but amazing execution)
Cave Story
FEZ
Spyro Reignited Trilogy (kinda childish, but good amounts of story and clever puzzles)
Wandersong
Guacamelee (more story and less puzzles)
Dandara
And if you don't mind a shorter campaign, then try A Short Hike, that one I think fits best on your request.
Oh, Hollow Knight and Ori and The Blind Forest is amazing, indeed. There should be more, but I am too sleepy to remember my whole library atm, sorry. I'll update it later.
Also Zork Nemesis was one of my favorite adventures back in the days. Awesome atmospheric old school adventure game. And Zork - The Grand Inquisitor has awesome puzzles and a hilarious humor.
