Wow I HATE the intro to Okami.

Even long ago I remember hating to constantly hear the long long winded monotonous warbling voice telling the opening story and making me hit continue button around 100 times and no way to skip it or push the button faster.. it's so slow and you can't walk away til it's done because it constantly makes you hit continure after every small line. It seriously takes about 15 minutes too before you can finally play. Then I went to invert the camera movement and accidentally go back to main menu and there is no Autosave to get passed all this again. Is there a way to skip this long intro because I don't think I have the patience to spend anouther 15 minutes of those wierd voices playing. I'm normally patient but this just really drives me up the wall worse than any other game I've ever played.

You can skip pretty much any scene, fyi. It was pretty suffering in the original game, I agree, Issun himself is awfully long-winded

I guess I'm the only one who likes the intro. I don't mind doing lots of reading in games. But yeah, it's good to have an option to skip it for the impatient (and returning players)

I like the intro too but when you've seen it a hundred times and you just want to play the game not being able to skip it can be annoying.

Yeah that's why I mentioned returning players too. It's definitely good they added the option here.

I like reading just fine.. but I don't read this slow. Having to hit a button every sentence and then waiting for that sentence to slowly get typed out.. all while hearing a very repetive squawk sound effect drives me and anyone else in the room up the wall.

If you want to read along the intro without mashing, try holding triangle/Y/rmb. It can also be done on cutscenes and dialogues (and it's super fast on the latter).

To be honest, i haven't try using an xbox controller. Is the subweapon mapped to the X or Y? It should be the subweapon button.

This doesn't work on all cutscenes. Intro is one of them. :v

It does work, except that it doesn't speed up the text. Doing that only removes the unnecessary button prompts for continuing the text, meaning you just need to hold a button, not mashing.

Oh I see. Yeah it's much less of a chore this way at least.
