Are there boss re-matches?
Hello there. I'm 8 hours into the game and I beat the Spider-Queen with a pretty bad total at the result screen. I also got a shrub for time on that sword guy before that. I just wanna know if you can later fight them again for a cherry tree rank. Cheers.

You can fight several Spider-Queen bosses actually, 3 more of them will guard Devil Gates which are optional and another one at the end of the game.
As for the "sword guy" - you'll be fighting him once more in the Taka Pass and that is all.

Okay cool. I'll make sure to use items the next time I see him. Are there any other bosses you only fight once or twice I should know about?

Most of bosses you fight only once. You fight Orochi three times, but the last fight is optional, IIRC.
Also, there's really no need to earn a cherry tree rank for their fights.

So they aren't needed for the Ranking up the Cherry Tree Achievement? Okay.

No. What you need is:
  • Deaths: less than 5
  • Praise Earned: at least 4500
  • Enemies Defeated: at least 550
  • Demon Fangs: at least 300
  • Money Gained: at least 4,000,000 Yen

Unfortunately the last fight isn't. You need to fight him again alongside other bosses to unlock the portal to the last boss
