Glaive tips
I just got the Tsumugari and...I'm not used to fighting enemies with it. Any tips?

Other than basic stuff, not really. Just use whatever suits you. I usually just use double reflectors.

The game doesn't require you to use new weapons immediately after obtaining it, you don't need to worry about difficulty at all.

I also prefer double reflectors, though I liked glaives more than rosary/beads weapons. I agree, just use whatever suits you best.

Same, also like double reflectors. Still, I'm trying to figure out if reflector or rosary as a sub or main goes with it.

I guard a lot, so reflectors on sub works well for me. Simply for farming demon fangs early in the game.

Reflector and braids as secondary. I never use glaives, I don’t think they’re that good

I personally prefer the aesthetic of using the last reflector, but I think the final glaive you get is slightly stronger? I can't tell but I switched between them frequently and use the Tundra Beads (rosary) as my sub because it feels like it has shorter range than the other rosaries. I'm not positive on some of this, however.

Glaives are great for jumpers and people that know how to keep a bit of distance. I don't usually use glaives until after I have the dodging ability, (The one they deals damage) because it makes it easier to swing repeatedly and not take too much damage. You can also charge them in the air or while ground for more damage. However, enemies like Tengu make the glaives seem really cruddy so go for something like rosaries or that has multiple attacks while midair.

I know that this is necro and whatnot, but I've fiddled around with double glaives and so far it's pretty good.

  • there are two types of glaives when equipped as a sub, one that attacks upward (there are two) and one that launches ammy towards the enemy (there are three). Both types of glaives launches Ammy to a nearby enemy in midair however. You can use this when you have trouble reaching an enemy I guess.
  • Glaives become much more effective once you obtained Sword Dance (boosts glaives when equipped as both main and sub). Basically, this sped up the charge time and adds the multiplier of charged attack to 5x. However, you can't get this until much much later in the game, so I suppose glaives are better used in late game.
  • You can charge both main and sub glaives at the same time, however, you'll be fixed in the spot. To do this, press main first then sub. Imo it isn't that effective, but it can reach some off ground enemies (like tengus) fairly easily with upward sub glaives. You can use the usual glaive combo after this dual charged attack though.
  • Use Slow Mist to have a better time to charge and aim the glaives.

At your progress, it might be awhile until you get another free glaive. You can buy one at seian city.
Imo, glaives are not that great until late game, but that's just my opinion.

Ah, alright. I'll just use my other weapons till I get to another area.

if used right a glave as a sub can be pretty op for some boss fights and you can stun lock some/most enemies
