Leveling up Astral Pouch

Is it worth it? From what I understand it acts like a free revive as long as it's is full. Since my Astral Pouch has been full before I even left the first village and the game being very easy up until this point (I am in the forest) I was wondering why I would ever level it up.

What exactly happens when I level it up anyway? Does it just get bigger? And if so wouldn't that make filling the pouch more time consuming to refill?

I don't remember, but maybe as you level it up, it would give you more health after dying? But yeah, seems pretty pointless, so you'd do better do level up other things.

You can be revived more times without the necessity of refilling the pouch ater each revival (given that the all pouches are full).
Also, there's related achievement.

Thanks! Since I am going for 100% completion I would end up leveling up everything anyways. I am gonna prioritize the other stuff first, though. Astral Pouch seems a bit redundant.

If you're going for 100% completion, make sure to check all the achievements requirements, if you haven't done that yet, because there are missable things.

Astral Pouch comes in handy if you don't have two rows of health, lack healing items, become reckless or Take onto the Bandit Spider Den's Demon Gate Challenges. Plus they don't count as deaths when used, so you can retain 0 deaths by having them save you.

It's definitely worth it but I usually priortize ink, then life, then that. I'm leveling it up once this playthrough before the first boss then waiting to continue later on.

Just level up anything at your own pace. The game is pretty easy minus the demon gate trials and a few other things. I haven't continue my playthrough yet, but I'm doing fine without upgrades at about 50% of the game progress.

But I guess it's worth it more if you max ink first, for convenience.

When it is full, extra food turns into money. So unless you are dying often I recommend not to level it up.

Ah, I remember playing the original on the PS2 back in its day -- never leveled up my HP or Astral Pouch (only Ink and Yen), and for me the resulting difficulty level felt just about right.

Nope, all upgrades are optional (done at your discretion only). Of course, it also helps I generally didn't take many hits and thus usually had a level 1 (or more) shield charged up to take the hit for me....

Well, unless you're not going for 100% completion, then yeah, it's not necessary.

ofc you don´t have to upgrade anything but your happy points or whatever its called will overflow at some point if you are not doing a minimalist or challenge playthrough or whatever
