mods for framerate
i played this game for a least 100 hours on a ps2 emulator last year (at 60 fps) and was really excited with the release of this port. i know firsthand how the engine suffers from 60 fps or speedups (missing/broken textures, missing effects, brush techniques are off center), but is there anyone who has put a mod out? just wondering.

There is a mod that (at some point in its development at least) would let you change the lock to 60 FPS, but just like mods on PS2 and Wii emulators, it broke all kinds of things and the game played at 2x speed, so not exactly playable. Here's the mod if you want to try it out: Kaldaien's Special K mod

The game was always running at 30 FPS locked, so at this point I wouldn't expect any breakthroughs.

if its so broken why ask lol. as far as I know, everyone who has tried has given up. The game would have to be recoded from scratch to ever run at 60fps

its the same with GTA trilogie, the game being hard coded to the FPS limit from consoles way back so every other FPS rate brakes the physics/game engine

Also on 60 FPS the fishing minigame would become IMPOSSIBLE unless you were a robot, bigger fishes changes directions on a dime.

I guess it's one of those games that were programmed directly linked to 30FPS. Some Japanese developers do that (used to, but not too many now)

I a bit disappointed. At first I thought it was some artistic hazy effect. It's nausiating. My fault for not doing my research. Wondering if having a 144hz makes it worse since 30 doesn't go into 144.

I played with a 144Hz screen in borderless window mode, and even though I'm a high framerate junky and 30 fps normally burns my eyes, I wasn't really bothered and got used to low fps pretty quickly. But if it's a problem for you, then you might want to check out Special K mod, it lets you disable some effects like blur. Maybe that will help.
