I would still push through until the end if I were you because the ending is absolutely fantastic and makes all your adventure worth it.
You currently at the end of second one. Also third arc is shortest, so you are quite close to the end. Just skip all sidequests and rush main story.
Not to mention they always have some kind of fun story going on, why would you not do them?
Sure, TECHNICALLY you do not need to do them to finish the game, but I wouldn't ever recommend not doing them.
