How far in am I?
Just got to the water dragon's underwater palace, through the whirlpool. Can someone give me a rough indication in terms of % how far through the game's main story I am?

I'm starting to feel like I'm running out of steam a bit, so I'm hoping I'm at the very least past 2/3 through, but I've read that this can take between 40-50 hours to complete, so worrying that I may not even be at the half way point yet (I've played about 20)

60%-70% I'd say.

The game is about 30-35 hours long if you're playing the game normally and actually exploring.
I would still push through until the end if I were you because the ending is absolutely fantastic and makes all your adventure worth it.

Game have 3 major arcs - Orochi, Oni Island and Kamui.
You currently at the end of second one. Also third arc is shortest, so you are quite close to the end. Just skip all sidequests and rush main story.

Don't do this. You don't need to find all the collectibles, sure, that's only for completionists, but side quests are pretty essential...

They are absolutely essential if you want the full impact of the ending.
Not to mention they always have some kind of fun story going on, why would you not do them?
Sure, TECHNICALLY you do not need to do them to finish the game, but I wouldn't ever recommend not doing them.

The OP doesn't seem to care about "the full impact of the ending". He apparently got tired and wants to finish the game already, which is sad by the way :(
