Fishing Advice?

I've almost almost 100%ed the entire game already on a NG+ and I only need to catch the oarfish to finish the tome and get the last 2 achievements, but after several hours and attempts to exit and load up again I've only caught 14 supreme tuna, and 8 marlin. Anybody got advice on what might help with my luck?

Naturally ofc right after posting this I went back to fishing and the first large fish caught was the oarfish .__.

If you want to get it faster next time, you should sacrifice kittens and/or your newborn to RNGesus, sometimes that helps. At other times it is just asking on the forum.
