They were removed on Wii supposedly because of a patent owned by Namco regarding loading screen minigames (expired since November 2015).

But yeah, I have no idea how it's going to work with fast load times.

wii also had faster loading times so it'd make them impossible to do

My reaction to that line about the mini games being back was "Oh great, so the loading times are going to be bad"
I could be wrong, if you could skip the minigames to have it load faster that would be ideal.

on the PS3 they were really hard to do.
They give you a late game currency so it was a bummer to not have them.
How were they done?

Well I think I remember two versions of the minigame. One had a bunch of pawprints appearing left to right, and if you time your button presses as they appear, they become bigger, time all of them right and you win. The other one was the one where you get a bunch of pawprints appearing in random places and if you spam inputs you make more of them, fill up the screen and you win. The timing minigame was more common in my experience and I sucked at it. It has been a while since I last played Okami, so correct me if I'm wrong.
what i ask is how do yo uplay on PS3 cause its not there according to internet

I played on PS2 emulator and remember both of those mini-games. I don't think I ever managed to fill the screen with those pawprints because loading times were pretty short for me, and I also sucked at the "rythm" mini-game, so maybe I managed to do it only a couple of times over the entire game.

I never played the Wii or PS3 version, but apparently the mini-games were removed from them due to the fact the game loaded so fast. I haven't thought about it previously, but it really is weird they are going to put them back in the game, since they only make sense when loading times are long enough, and I doubt they will be even if you install the game on a regular HDD, let alone a fast SSD. I guess you will have an option to turn them on and off, or will be able to play them as long as you want during loading, until you press a button to start the game.

And to add more about the mini-games themselves - if you win you receive a Demong Fang, which is basically a currency for buying special items. But you don't need the mini-games to get them, you can also get them from enemies if you finish them in a special way, different for various types of enemies.
