Does it start if you click the saves/presets button on the top left of the window on your monitor? Also what GPU and what HMD are you using?

It does start from my monitor and i am using a GTX 1080 and an HTC vive

Once you have started via the monitor, can you bring up the options menu as this uses the same button? Also when you say nothing happens, does the words dissapear. Have you tried restarting SteamVR?

I'm not sure if this is related but I have had issues like this with this game and also 'Chocolate' and 'Old Friend' for the vive. All I had was a window with the game on the desktop and the loading screen in the vives HMD. Couldnt start the game or anything. Steam support were no bloody help. No response.

I luckily had a backup of my windows 7 installation. Ive been trying to narrow the issue down and I think its windows 7 updates this month thats done it. I havent yet found out the one responsible but when I restored the backup and tried these games they worked straight away. I also found out that uninstalling the updates didnt help. They seem to mess up windows and removing them doesnt help. The damage is already done. You need to avoid them altogether. Sorry if this isnt any help. Just wanted to acknowledge your issue and tell you its a known issue of sorts.

Apologies for that. Didn't realise you had windows10. Might be an update for windows10? just a thought. I use 'R-Drive Image' for backups and you can restore the whole c: drive in like 10 mins. Saves you hours of downloading updates and installing drivers. Good luck chap!

Thank you very much, I actually had to switch to windows 10 because of the HTC, windows 7 usb 3.0 was a little messed up and my htc wouldnt work so i had to update, thanks for your solution, i hope that saved someone on windows 7 a lot of time

No problem. All the best.

@Sphinxyy OK, so I assume that once you have started the game by clicking on the monitor, everything works as it should and you can play.
It is strange as so far no one else has reported this specific issue so far. Have you tried to verify game cache or to redownload Chroma Lab just in case your copy is corrupt?

@ymo1965 thanks for informing me/others of your issue

No problem. I still have yet to pinpoint the cause, but as I said above, it points to windows updates. I made a list of them for reference. When you start the game a window appears on the desktop and if you move the vive about the window view changes too. All you could see in the HMD view was the usual animated loading screen but it never began in the vive to play like normal. Just a constant 'loading screen'. I don't know if it's a Unity thing. Something is blocking the game or getting in the way. It isn't anti-virus as I have already tried totally disabling it and still had the issue. Ive seen this problem reported online a few times but nobody knows the cause.

Cheers and thanks so much for creating one hell of a game/experience. Truly magical! :steamhappy:

it's not a Unity thing. more than likely a Viveport update needing a restart for 1.1.1 r47

I restored a backup from before the last vive update. Didnt apply any of the newest windows updates. Games worked fine.
