Herd Mechanics

Hello all who read this. So my experience with herding has had its hickups. I spawned with a single sister as a trike and we stuck together up to adulthood.
Then I encountered, as a large sub adult, a herd of young trikes, very young. So young that most of the herd's base AI was to leave us alone. It was to my delight that they joined us at all. The herd was odd in behavior and I would later discover that the herd had two alphas, (I think) of my sister(who I could drag around since she was the only other member of the original herd) and one of the three younger males. After awhile I was given the option to grow and I took that route. After discovering I and sister were kicked out I reloaded to an older save and was unable to repeat the event so I likely experience a glitch right? It was a cool glitch so could I later invite the younger herds to my herd?

Next is when I fought for my first herd leader. A herd of aproximately 9 aproached me and I fought the male lead. after winning my sister was not officially amoungst my herd its like I left the herd I was leading for this herd of 8 females. Could I in the future join herds to make a larger herd? Then there is what happened to the male... Had I known what would happen to the guy I never would have fought him but his former ladies all ganged up on him and straight up massecered him. He did not stand a chance. So I get that its a right of passage and you want to add penalties for the looser but could you just leave the looser with nothing instead of killing him? I mean that animal could have been there brother since it seems likely that your trike adults would battle each other leaving only one brother in the herd, why kill a sibling? On top of that is my anaysis true? Do siblings stay in the same herd half sibling or not? If so was my trike born out of such a family?

The herd swap system should be replaced with herd absorbtion so my sibling could join me.

Finaly regarding the travles with my new "family" they ended horribly. a trike with another herd fought me for leadership and we fought hard till somehow I lost the fight. The moment I did my old herd tried to kill me and my new herd did nothing but watch. I could not escape the traitors blood lust.

I would like to personally thank the devs for giving me the opportunity to even experience this as if I were born 100 years ago this type of thing would be only in my dreams, so thanks for giving me a glimpse into the ancient world!

I don't know how may years of work went into this game but you guys did your homework.

Herd size is limited to 10 or less, which may explain the expulsion of some of your herdmates. There is also the fact that the only herd compositions allowed are adult/hatchling and sub-adult/juvenile.

You're welcome! There should be a tooltip that informs you of herd composition rules when you age to juvenile as well.
