How to do Raptor Prey Restraint?
I'm really enjoying this game, despite it's unfinished state, but I am a bit confused as to how RPR works. Am I meant to spam LMB and RMB? Do I adjust the slider somehow using RMB? How much of a factor does the prey's size relative to me play? It seems like no matter what I do, I end up falling off the prey.

No, do not spam RMB. Each time the bar slides, press RMB once. No more, no less. Mass is fairly important- the greater the difference in your target's favor, the harder it is for you to stay on, and vice versa. Pachycephalosaurus is a fair bit more massive than adult Dakotaraptor, so it's going to be somewhat difficult to mount until you reach Super Adult state.

Except the game only says that LMB/RMB are used for RPR, but doesnt tell the player how to use them. The game also doesn't distinguish between incorrect player inputs (disrupting RPR from clicking too much or too little) and the animal you're attacking being strong enough to shake the raptor off despite your inputs. So a lot of the time, it seems like the bar/inputs are simply being unresponsive. This is exacerbated by the current state of ontogeny, where the Dakotaraptor model looks like an adult at only around 4 years old, which makes it hard (especially for newer players) to identify appropriate prey.

I am well aware this game is still in pre-alpha, in the midst of development and a long way off from resembling a final product, but I hope issues like these are being considered.

Hmmm... so, in other words, a more in-depth explanation of the mechanic is needed in-game?

Yes, please. It took me so long to figure it out.
