Picking up bodies?

I've seen raptors holding dead prey in their mouths in screenshots. How do you do that exactly?

First, your prey needs to be small enough for you to pick it up, which is determined by the hidden stat of mass. If you are an adult, than Chamops, the Bone Butte Bird, and Acheroraptor should all have a low enough mass for this. Next, when you kill/try to eat these animals, hold- don't just press- LMB. This also allows you to hold onto meat chunks

Okay, so then what button to pick up the whole body? I've seen an adult holding an entire croc and archeoraptor

I am having the same problem as OP. Before the last patch, holding LMB picked up the corpse (of smaller animals), but now holding LMB only plays the full eating animation where the Raptor tears off a chunk of meat. I can hold the meat, but not pick up the body (referring to acheros/ crocs for adults, and birds/lizards for young)

yeah same thing for me i can only pick up chamops and birds as late sub adult/ adult

Alright. Can y'all give me the numbers here? How old are you when you're able to pick up stuff? What's the largest you can pick up?

I am currently an 8 year old raptor, I can pick up meat chunks, but cannot pick up any bodies at all (crocs,acheros,birds,lizards). Even birds and lizards float into my mouth after I kill them, they do not stay on the ground after dead they simply float into my raptors mouth without any prompt. As a Baby/Juvi lizards/birds stay on the ground when killed but I cannot pick them up

(I should note, this does not affect the ability to eat, the UI still registers meat being picked up and consumed)

I can't pick up bodies either. I'll only rip pieces of meat. I'm starting to think that this is a bug.

You should be able to pick up birds and Chamops... I'm going to keep an eye on this thread, and check for this in testing.

Late but I also have this issue. Currently 11 y/o raptor and I just tried to pick up an achero to no avail. Currently I cannot pick up anything at all, even birds and the lizards (both small and the larger one). All I can do is tear chunks off and drop them. Also applies to every previous life stage as well.
