Oculus controls stopped working
I played through the first mission fine and I could just use the sticks to move around the control cursor to interact. When I reload though, now I have to push down the tumbsticks to even seen the movement reticle, and when I pick anything up I can no longer move it closer, in fact it will just push away from your hand until you either drop it or it hits an obstruction.

Any idea what has happened to the controls between when I finished last time and now?

Have you tried the compatibility beta?? that sorted it out for me with G2 controllers.

Ooh how do I do that?

Also nice Shodan pic, obviously a gamer of taste and discernment ;)

Thanks. Right click on the game in the library to the left go to properties and select betas. There you’ll see compatibility beta in the list.

This also is not working for me. I believe it coincided with a Virtual Desktop update...and I saw elsewhere the devs aren’t supporting virtual desktop wireless VR.

Hope I am wrong

Me too! Wireless VR is one of the best things about the Quest 2.

Some people mention success when playing the game via oculus link (wired to pc). I will test asap and let you know!

Oh good point, I think maybe I played it with link the first few times before I got VD working (not the STD). That could be it. Keep us posted.

Someone did mention early the devs said they were not supporting VD play. On the plus side its a sit down game so being unwired matters less/

Yep so just reporting back here that it DID NOT make a difference being connected via Oculus Link. Shame.

I find it hard to believe the reviews are so positive for the game if the basic controls aren't working. Have i missed something here? Are these controls ever likely to be fixed? I don't want to even begin playing it proper until i know i can control properly.

Its just strange, they worked fine the first time I played it and then they just stopped working. I wonder if the Quest 2 updates that have come in over recent months are the problem, though I find it hard to imagine how as those updates were to do with how the Quest 2 hardware itself works, not for how it functions through link.

Oh man .. After I had problems with the Quest 2 controllers on the Stam VR version of The Walking Dead S&S and didn't feel like playing the game anymore, I thought I would start this game.
But as I noticed myself in the game and now reading here, there are also problems here ...
I have the same problem that I cannot move objects towards me ..
So it's not fun anymore :(

The Walking Dead still works for me (the PC version) but I had it crossbuy through the Oculus store so my PC versions is through them not Steam, maybe the controller problems with some games are some kind of Steam issue?

I have now got it to work, the Oculus Quest 2 controllers are recognized and work in the game.
What you have to do is:

In Steam -> right click on the game
-> Properties -> Betas -> select compatibility

-> Enter the following under start options: -vrmode oculus

I can play the walking dead.
If I start it via the Virtual Desktop Game selection, it works without problems, but it is not recognized on Steam, the game time is not recorded and no achievements are made either.

If I start the game directly in VD via steam, the game and the archievements are recorded, but I have problems with the controls and it is unplayable.
But only recently, I think there was an update or something ...

Anyway, I'm really happy that I can finally play I Expect You To Die :)
