No Sound.
Game is silent suddenly today. Was just playing yesterday fine. All my other VR games have sound. Even the SteamVR menus have sound while in IEYTD. But the game itself has got nothing.

Using WMR if it matters.

I can't get sound from the game either. Sound is present in all other VR apps and games. I found an old post that said to go into the sound device settings and enable "Loudness Equalization". That didn't work.

Using a Valve Index and RTX 2080 Super with driver 441.20.

Well wouldn't you know it: The old restart-the-computer trick worked. You win again Tech Support.

I had the sound problem as well - but it's a little different than described here: the sound comes in for a second or two, then goes away again for a minute, then comes back intermittently. The result is that the Death Engine mission doesn't play correctly, because the panel unlocking is triggered by a sound clip that doesn't play - until about three minutes of sitting in the shuttle.

For the record, I was able to load and play the Death Engine mission on the first day, it's only when I came back the next day that I started having this issue. I've restarted VR and the computer a number of times, and all other VR apps are unaffected.

I'm having the same issue. Anyone figure out a solution?

I also have the same problem, a little sad when you can't play.
I could play without problems before the new stage was released

Had the same problem a few days ago. It seems to have started after the last steam link update and the sound gets wonky when my steam link is running. Did you guys got the steam link as well? I played today, steam link unpowered, sound was just fine.

I do happen to have a Steam Link. Would be an odd one but I actually may have been using it earlier that day... I will try today with the Link for sure off. But I'd be more apt to blame the game update.

Edit: No luck still no sound. And I've reinstalled again. And restarted a plenty since my original post too. Ah well.

If the devs are reading; 2600x, Vega64, WMR if that information matters/helps. No sound since the last update. All other games (VR or otherwise) and all applications have working sound.

Greeting everyone. First and foremost, our thanks for helping troubleshoot this issue and our apologies for the frustration. We have been investigating this behavior and are trying to track down a solution or commonality in the configuration of those affected.

Some players are stating that a simple PC restart addressed the issue and others have had success disabling their Steam Link device.

We are working directly with a few affected players and will update with any relevant information ASAP.

Thank you for your patience and support

For the record, I am not using Steamlink.

I too am having this problem. I get the sound to come back when I restart my computer but if I switch to another game and come back the sound is gone.

Are there any updates? Has anyone figured out a solution?

restarting didn’t bring sound back for me, might be a bigger issue then you thought

I also have this issue with the sound cutting out intermittently. It will only cut out for IEYTD, as when I go to the menu and click buttons I hear steam VR sounds but not IEYTD sounds. Running an HTC vive on a RTX2070 mobile. If it helps, I don't have a steam link. Restarting is a short term fix, sound will be okay for a while but the problem comes back after some time. It also is something that gets progressively worse the more one plays. Maybe it's some sort of memory leak?

Apparently using the mixcast version fixes this. I have no idea why
