Is there used to be changes/balancing in Element list?
Apparently I'm in the progress of elements grinding in order to fully prepare for 2nd playthrough NG+ Calamity Infinity, i.e. I need a lot of gems. I did Ruined Castle of Darkness around 1.3-1.4K gems per run per 2:30min with Holy Blessing (HB). It's not that bad, but I thought it is possible to gain more gems with better element, since HB increases gem drop by +25% only, so there must be one that does +50%.

When checking FAQ/walkthrough from both GameFaqs and Neoseeker (both post from 2018), there is indeed an element named "Breathing" that increases gems drop by +50%. Nevertheless, I checked every shop including pawnshop, fortune teller before final boss and before epilogue boss and found no signs of it. It was at this moment that I saw quite a difference in elements list between the game and the guides:

In general current game has more (and better) elements than the faqs

The elements that current game has but the faqs don't:
* Fire - Basara (Ranged, Power, Flying + 25% dmg)
* Wind - Raiden (greatly increase mov spd)
* Steel - Kagura (up Drive and HP orbs from breaking objects 5x)
* Spirit - Kiraboshi (ATK and MATK boosted by 5% of Soul point during X-drive)
* Shadow - Shinshin (normal atks are buffed as skill points decrease up to +200%)
* Literally all IV version of Force, Mayhem, Veil, Thunder, etc.

And ones that faqs have but the game doesn't:
* Spirit - Breathing (gems drop rate +50%)

I thought these guides belong to old Vita game version at first, but again the title in those posts named "Tokyo Xandu Ex+", not "Tokyo Xanadu". So the question is as the topic name, and if it is true then it means Breathing does not exist at all? Or is it related to/locked behind bonus dungeons?

I cant really awnser that but to get gems I found it much faster to just buy food and keep making sad face persons do it; the "failed" cook will give you coloured gems (Check the list for possible results beforehand and find the gem you want to grind).

Of course, for this, you need a ton of money.

But more on topic at hand, I dont really recalle a "Breathing" core at any point... I dont really pay attention to gem drop rate cores in the first place so maybe I just missed it.

Ah thank you for your reply, gems farming that I mentioned actually were white gems that you trade for money though xD, so yeah, money first before considering anything else, including coloured gems.

I can confirm that this 'Breathing' quartz doesn't exist - I don't see anything with that name in the item table. I can also confirm that there is no quartz or other item that increases gem drops rate by 50%

Holy blessing has special ability byte 0x94, which is 'increase odds of gem drops by the next byte' (which is 0x19, or 25 in decimal). So if a quartz that gave +50% gem drops existed, I could find it by searching for 0x94 0x32, but that gives no results.

Ah thank you for clarifying it, quite sad to see there is no chances to earn faster gems though, well back to the usual run.

Here is the weird element list from the gamefaq though if you want to see the "Breathing" quartz
Element lists [gamefaqs.gamespot.com]
That gamefaqs list is strange.

It almost looks like it was translated from a Japanese version of the game, or something?

"Yakou Absorb 3% HP per every attack" ( https://jisho.org/search/%E5%A4%9C%E5%85%89 for reference)

This is the "Luminesence" quartz.

Ah, looking on the front page of this guide solves the mystery - I'd guess it was written based on the Japanese Vita version of the game, since the FAQ was started in 2015.

"Disclaimer: This guide is currently being revised to cover the additional content of the PS4 version. The Guide is only revised up to Chapter 6. Everything else is still based on the Vita version at the moment.

Maybe the Japanese name of Holy Blessing can also translate into Breathing (or aksys screwed it up, idk I'm not that good at Japanese), and it used to be +50%, or the guide author made a mistake.

Oh I see, that explained everything. My bad for being careless :steamfacepalm:, after all I was quite confident it is updated to the near latest (2018) + the name Ex+ so it couldn't be just Vita version.
