Is this game a slow starter?

I understand that many jrpgs have a slow start but Cold Steel just about put me to sleep early on. From the little video I have watched, TX eX+ moves at a brisker pace?

Indeed it does. While Cold Steel did admitably have a slow start, I believe Tokyo Xanadu will meet your expectations as far as this goes.

Agree. Cold steel is too boring. I tried so hard to like it (34 hrs playtime) but give up.

To be honest, I loved Cold Steel, part of the reason I'm so excited for this game since the game should feature a similar style.

The other part is the more action-oriented combat.

Never let it be said that I in any way disliked Cold Steel, I absolutely loved it. In fact, they do share many similarities; perhaps that's one of the reasons I like Tokyo Xanadu as much as I do.
