Give this game an English dub
Dual audio is the way to go. I like playing games voiced in English. Let me do that.

ive never understood the hate for eng dubs especially in games since it very directly improves sales, that is a given fact. I know a lot of people have perference to subs but still its another selling point, its something that can ultimately make the devs get more money. I struggle to understand what the vocal community doesnt seem to understand about that. We have reached a point where voice acting for most modern titles are pretty good regardless of language. Ultimately you guys should care the price, the features you want and how much profit the team behind it can get should you like the game. Attacking features you dont like that do not effect you is ridicoulous and childish.
The only reason people think Japanese is AUTOMATICALLY better and English sounds terrible is because they think Japanese sounds cool.

I personally dont follow any seiyuu. Theyre just not grating like english voice overs tend to be.

Though now that i think of it, i like who ever the hell ashes(pokemon) voice is in japanese. Heard her in the pair ovas and i like the tomboyish hothead flair she gives

Id love to play the game with english dub as well. Only the super weebs dont want both. Cringey english is one thing but I cant even understand the seperation of words in japanese. its like one constant string of sound when they talk. Not trying to offend anyone but I prefer to consume my media in my native tounge.

They are only household names BECAUSE they are singers, not because they are voice actors.

The VA industry in Japan is not glamorous. It's horribly abusive, in fact. VAs are treated like dirt by their agencies while forced to put on happy faces and keep quiet about it lest they lose their contracts.

Pay rates are also very low compared to the unionized side of the industry in the West which is why you see even the "big names" in low budget projects.

Fanboys and girls like to think the Japanese VA industry is some utopia because there's schools for it, but guess what? Those schools are mostly scams. It's very much like a low-paying Hollywood over there with less than 1% making it big and the ones who do make it big do so because of their supplementary work. They also tend to get there, like Hollywood, through connections as much as talent.

I'm not saying that Japan doesn't produce good VA talent, but it's massively overstated how "superior" they are to Western talent.

The Japanese language itself and the more theatrical/melodramatic style of most Japanese voice work also go far in hiding terrible acting. Bad Japanese acting tends to be hilariously overacted and that's harder to notice unless you know the language. A lot of "bad" dubs are actually extremely true to the Japanese. It's just that the Japanese acting style sounds HORRIBLE in a language you fully understand.

The only reason people think Japanese is AUTOMATICALLY better and English sounds terrible is because they think Japanese sounds cool.

We're in a world where most of the media consumed worldwide is in ENGLISH. If anything because of that things sound cooler to the world in English by default, which makes the whole point of English dubs being so mediocre the more baffling.

At the end of the day though, it's all because of poor direction and probably casting. No one complains about Metal Gear Solid V having poor Enlgish voice acting because the direction there is amazing, just like in Japanese. Most of the people willingly choose to play it in English because of that.

Meanwhile almost anything related to anime has a terrible dub in English, even nowadays. Go take a look at Xenoblade Chronicles 2, one of the most recent "anime" games.

Cannot agree more. Most popular Japanese AAA games like Resident Evil, MGS or even Final Fantasy have good English dubs because the studios spend more money on direction and better voice actors. On the other hand niche games such as Tales of, Persona or YS VIII are bound to have terrible dubs. Personally I'd rather save a few GBs of download than have a bad English dub even if It's optional. But that's just my opinion.

Thus wasnt a question about how well the vas have it, but how much effort is put into their work. Dont move the goalposts. Besides you say it like I dont know how insane japanese worth ethic is

Engluish language is disgusting on its own already. Even more so when people dubbing game dont even try.
Ofc any sane person would choose original VO over english, Its same level of stupidity as playing Withcer 3 with english VO.

I would love the option of hearing it in English, but I don't blame them for not doing it. Honestly I love dub series mostly because I like to watch anime on my PC while I play on it or play a game on one of the other consoles I enjoy and I've actually stopped going to major anime sites (Crunchy Roll for example) because I couldn't find a dub for a anime I want to watch and it annoys me and I don't want to go into the dark recess of the internet to get that fix.

having dual audio does cause its own problems

when games are dual audio guess what track the english subtitles are usually for (the english track) (ie ff13)

sometimes when an english track is made they wont get the license for the japanese track so we only get the english track

i dont like dubs, and its not harmless it cost money, it makes it where i may not get the original audio and it may cause the subtitles to be wrong so i have good reasons not to want them on my anime/games
