Extremely low volume

Has anyone else noticed this? Even with the in-game volume sliders maxed the game is incredibly quiet. I have to turn my speakers really high to get a decent volume.
I'm playing the GOG version, but I assume it's the same on Steam since there's no reason they would be different in that regard.
