From what I gather assets that already existed like animations are gone too.
This is not a point that should be held against the game. Few AAA developers do armor-swapping anyway, and this is an indie team.
Anyway, I will wait for now and withhold from buying. If it will updated at least to the quality of 1st & 2nd Sonny, I will buy it.
Taking a step backward is whats grating people in a rpg the whole point is to get stronger, now if its just numbers it gets pretty boring fast, there is little incentive to grind for a specific set of armor because of "fashion souls" if you look exactly the same as you did within the first battle and onward.
I am also enjoying this game alot even without the animations or armor and weapons on Sonny. Even though it sucks it's not essential like you were saying.
