How to open the shop?

I'm standing in front of the 'Not Polybius' thing and press up in both analog sticks (using an XBox controller), the DPad and the cursor key. Nothing works. I would really appreciate if somebody could point out what I'm doing wrong.

You get this all of the time now. vague tutorial and no manual or other way to reference the controls or any other info about how to play the game. I still have used no dynamite because I missed it somehow at the beginning and it seems to let you go through the tut without actually doing the things it is supposed to teach you. A shame really, could be a decent game if it took care of the basics. Oh yeah, sorry, I have also been unable to use the store and I'm also using an XB360 pad.

I come late lol but to open the shop with xbox 360 controller just use the left analogic stick and push it up same thing to use teleporters
