Best version of Third Strike?
I was wondering whats the best version to play of Third Strike. Is the one on this(30th Anniversay Collection) the one to go, or should seek for the Dreamcas, Ps2, Or PS· version? Heard PS3 version is "somehow the best" but don´t know the reasons or if there is even real difference.

Anyone can tell me anything?

Depends on what you’re looking for as far as the best. If you’re looking for arcade accuracy, 30AC is probably the best version.

DC and PS2 versions are pretty ignored nowadays due to frame rate issues and some balance changes/bug fixes the active scene don’t like.

OE on the PS3 is still very close to arcade accurate while having extra content casuals might enjoy. Combo trials, a challenge mode, a gallery, an alternate soundtrack, dipswitches, playable Gill. Balance is untouched from the arcade version too. Really the only problem with OE is just that it’s stuck on the PS3

If you’re interested at all in playing other people online though, you’ll be disappointed with any of the console ports. Anyone that wants to play 3S does so on Fightcade. It’s one of the most popular games there.

I actually have a "magicalized" PS3 (among many other old and older systems) so I guess ill get it there (mostly looking to play solo to kill the time and learn the ropes)

Guess emulation on the Steam Deck (Emudeck) may be also a choice to have it portable, but if the one in 30AC is an accurate port of the original arcade maybe its fine enough.

BTW If i remember correctly some games of the 30AC had a bug wich made them to get stuck on high difficulty even if you apparently change it, what games are those affected by that "fixed difficulty" bug?

Time will come to get fightcade eventually.

Iirc that high difficulty bug is only in Super Turbo. I don’t think any of the other games are affected
