Also, in case you did not know, the original arcades used to have artwork around the monitor (at least for Sf2) that's how I remember having played them, it's better to have it because it helps the presentation.
Examples: https://imgur.com/a/wEub1TX.
i still hope they implent any function to turn it off. if 4:3 or 16:9 stretched wouldnt be that bad for me.
You can remove the decoration if you want but Imo the art on the borders looks nice, and much better than have nothing.
They already giving you the best option for modern tvs, unless you want to connect your PC to a 4:3 that would solve your problem.
even 4:3 with black bars on left right would be better for me then a surrounding frame you cant turn off. if you have the option in the grafik settings to turn on off then all would be happy and wouldnt be much work to implent it.
But you can play as you want, it is not just about having the frame or not, it also looks sharper when playing properly, because it is not stretching the pixels.
As advice I give you just remove the frame instead of deforming the game if you do not like.
I don't only like the art but it gives a sense of depth as well.
what i want is the option to turn off the frame surround the game itself
i saw it in different games and it pissed me off everytime.
i jsut say i would rather play it with black bars or scretched then with a frame thats all.
they could have completly remake it in 16:9 too but no they didnt cause lazyness or they just want to keep to the original but the least they can do is giving the player the option to choose themselves!!
with the frame in game you just play in frame in frame thats stupid in my eyes and fun killing a bit too or atleast annoying for me.
and i played with scretched too few games and im sure i would def prefer that then a frame surround left right top and bottom!
implenting the option would hurt anyone nor would it cost much time and on top it would all make happy they can choose how they want to play it. i guess i would play it in the end with 4:3 and black bars. i would test different option and play that one which i like most.
on some game scretching to 16:3 you dont even see much difference its different from game to game. but to force all to play with frame would be the worst decision.
like 5-10 years ago nearly every game had tons of options people could choose themselves. those days devs more and more make it lazy ways or try to force you how to play it.
And what do you mean by saying they could have completely remake it in 16:9? do you mean all 12 titles? Hahaha, they already did a remake of super street fighter II turbo (the HD remix)
I already show you the video where they remove the art from the borders.
Here is a comparison of the 3 ways you can play without deforming the image https://imgur.com/a/ZMTnSbV
the 3rd will probably be the one you choose, but to my liking is the same as playing on emulator without downloading a bezel, wich is totally fine.
Stretching any classic game from the sub HD era into a fullscreen aspect of 16:9 is called deforming it.
