Put plenty of time in with HLSL Effects, ReShade etc. and, in my opinion,
the "arcade filter" option, in Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection,
is very respectable indeed.
HLSL and ReShade? How can I do that? Any third party programs or I missed something?
Are you one of those people that likes that horrible filter that smooths everything and makes everying look like it's covered in vasaline? That looks ♥♥♥♥.
This is why it looks almost HD with that filter where as those other HQ3X filter etc looks so forced and bad.
These are low res 240p sprites designed for arcade CRT cabinets.
The arcade filter in this game only exists in this game they did a great job, the only other option is to port SF3 3rd strike online edition to PC since that one has a special internal filter and redrawn HD menus and portraits etc
The "mere black dots" arcade filter provided in-game in this release, acts as a raster scan.
That is to say, it acts upon the pixels much as a CRT monitor would, thereby presenting the graphics in the way they were intended and, in my opinion, to their best advantage. ymmv.
Prince of Persia and Out of This World(Another World in Europe) franchises shows what you can do when you rework the original games. Simply selling emulated games is laziness and taking your fans for granted.
I agree with you. All the purists want the original sprites to match arcade great for them. If I want smooth blended sprites and like that better why cant we have that? Maybe i prefer that instead. Most other games hd remix or online third strike all had them.
I would have wanted HQ4X, 2xSAI for a smoother look. I dont care if it matches original arcade if i did i could pick that filter.
Exact! Both options being available would have been better.
