Is there other footage available of New Generation/2nd Impact yet? There's a chance that you just happened to watch a video where the audio was downmixed into mono.
Edit: Wait no, this video has binaural audio... so if what OP says is true, New Generation/2nd Impact are incorrectly monaural. That might be something worth reporting in the technical support forum if the problem is still present on release.
Guess we’ll see Tuesday. I’m guessing the PC, XB1, and Switch will all have the exact same sound sound issues with New Generation, and 2nd Impact, too. Wouldn’t this be on Digital Eclipse to fix? They’re the ones who developed this collection.
Honestly, it’s gonna be hard to enjoy these two in their current state, as music (and it’s audio quality) is a HUGE part of the experience that draws me into certain games while playing.
Capcom and Digital Eclipse communicated closely during the development of the Mega Man Legacy Collection patches, I'm sure they'll do the same here; they're not just going to release it and leave it to rot.
If Digital Eclipse figured that out way too late, they might apply a fix in the day one patch or through a hotfix update.
In either case, better report that problem in the technical support thread once it's up!

Not sure what that would accomplish, especially since the music in these games are some of best in the franchise, and in gaming history, period.
