Ya, it was frustrating for me too. Difficulty level was notoriously high, an opponent deals more damage and enticed me to play defensively.

Its a version of the game that was actually recalled.
If you want the achievements for SSF2T, just play and have player 2 join as the next character you need to face until you reach Bison (or Akuma)...

Bison is quite easy to beat, just wait for him to jump and hit him with anti airs... Balrog is good too cause of reach and strength... Akuma? Forget about it... u_u

The ai is a notorious cheating bastard in virtually every version of sf2, doesnt need to charge attacks, reads your inputs so knows what you're doing and imediately has a counter to it, your moves will randomly do less damage while theirs do more, their grab attacks such as honda's bearhug or blanka's bite, the ai can get much more hits out of it than the player can (sometimes you'll grab them and they break out before you do any damage at all). etc etc

Just up to capcom to release patches to sort out the gameplay, though the things i mentioned won't be changed as thats how the game has always been with the ai being a cheating opponent.

It's the first release of the game that was then updated due to the difficulty being so absurd.

It's not unplayable, it's just extremely hard and if you're going for the Akuma achievement it get's even harder.

It took me about 4-6 hours to finally get through it and get the Akuma fight and then complete the game.

I definitely won't be attempting it again until it's patched, as that session felt like it took 10 years off of my life due to how stressfull and frustrating it was.

it wasn't, at least not for the difficulty. I think people just repeating stuff they heard from Maximilian Dood but he is actually wrong about this. all US revisions of the game have this difficulty issue as well as the ones for other regions. the Japanese one is the only one without this problem.
I guarantee that I am not a worse gamer now than I was when I was five years old... And I dunno, but I think my PC is about 1000x faster (if measured by processor core clock speed alone...) than the SNES cpu I used to play against back then.

I'm asking for a refund.. I'll buy this again (hopefully on sale) if they ever figure out how to tone down AI that once was processor-throttled but isn't anymore.
Oh yes. Super hard and it will cause depression for some. Make good use of the save feature and persevere. You will find yourself improving little by little as you progress through each match.
I play it on arcade too and it difficult as ♥♥♥♥!!
Good thing it's not just me that the SF II turbo is practically impossible to play.

cpu hits average twice as much as yours, this is no hardship is pure cheating. This is because the difficulty is at 1.

no sign of correction?
I've started making short tutorial videos on how to beat the CPU. If you need help, check these out. I only made a hand full as of this comment. I may add more later if people feel these are useful.

They probably made it so hard to draw more quarters out of people at the arcade.

Interestingly enough, the Japanese version of the game doesn't have this problem.
