Can't play online

Game claims I'm not online on the Steam network even though I am. A friend from my list is having the same issue right now.

As per another thread I found, I tried deleting my save folder and disabling cloud save. It didn't fix it.

go to the game's steam properties, betas and opt in to the 2.0 thingy
it should allow you to play online with others who enabled that same option

this doesn't for everyone and it will roll back your Dcode and stuff

Yeah, I too also can't go into the online mode. Could be one of two things. Possibly maintenance on the game, or rather, a steam issue that you can't go into the online mode.

What do u mean with 2.0 thingy? I opt in into the beta version of steam and still can't play online...

I was able to play online via Player Rooms yesterday when this started, without issues. Yeah the whole D-Code, Avatars and such were defaulted due to not being able to log in as normal, but online play did work if you just stick to the rooms.

Edit: It seems that today though, the day after I noticed it happened it doesn't work anymore sadly. Before it was just a "Failed to log in" or something error but now it's "Failed to initialize the network" error it seems for me.

Report the issue here so they notice. There is no CF option so put the report under BBTAG (and you can also ask why there is no CF option while you are at it).

I got the exact same thing yesterday and the night after it wouldn't allow me to connect to the network at all saying I need to connect to Steam.
The 2.00 beta is the only thing that works fine.
