PS5 controller does not work

PS5 controller does not work on this game, but it is recognized by every other game, also in the steam system too. I even turn the big picture mode on, before launch the game, but when the game start, it doesn't receive any input from my PS5 controller.

I got it working by turning steam controller support on then off again. Buttons are all going to be in the wrong place but you can rebind everything except start, which is stuck on the share button.

You have to boot the game with support on before turning it off again, btw.

Turn off Playstation config in steam controller menu and run it with xbox configuration.

For some reason this game doesn't have DS5 support

It was initially released before DS4 support was actually common and standardised, that's why.

My Qanba Dragon (PS4, PS3, PC) does not work. That thing is even licensed for use on PS5 and always worked for me with every other fighting game on PC. Using my Madcatz T.E.S+ (also PS4 version). My Xbox One Elite 2 also works flawlessly.

to use DS5 pad, boot the game up, press the PS button on the controller, then hit shift+tab and force quit the game, and then run the game again and it'll work.
2nd edit: you don't have to disable playstation controller support in the settings for this.

I had zero faith this would do anything, but this was in fact the only solution that worked. After enabling/disabling steam input, changing configs, using big picture mode and desktop mode, and even trying the new steam UI beta, nothing worked until I tried this.

I also had issue running this game with Remote Play for a friend using a DualSense, but I think I've figured it out. The solution was to power up a second controller and make sure it works first (in this case it's my DualShock controller), then switch friend's controller to controller 2 position and the DualSense was recognizable by BB. With GGXrd or KOF13 I don't have to do this at all.

I don't have the Dragon but I've tested my friend's Obsidian hitbox with this game. Basically I set the switch to PC and set it in Steam controller settings as a Generic controller and it worked fine. My Q1SW also runs in a similar fashion (except no switch because it was built for PS3).
