I thought Alter Memory were .. mediocre. If I wouldn't be a BB fan I wouldn't gotten past the first 2 episodes (I didn't get past them during a few weeks even)
The difference of the Jojo's quality have been mentioned by some of my anime watching friends, but I never cared to check it out.
Most of them are pretty sane, and usually have quite similar taste as I do. Still a few loved all the Jojo 'eras'
It's basically night and day. Better voice acting (In both Japanese and English voices), better animation quality (The old OVAs were rushed and seemed like a low quality version of a 90s anime while the new ones are more polished and use the modern "DBZ Kai" style), and much more.
I'd love to see BBAM get that kind of treatment just because I feel like the plot deserves it. Since Mori's completely done with Ragna's storyline though, I guess that means we probably won't get it.
One of the animes that got me caught watching anime more then movies, were Akira. It's also a bit sloppy, and have lots of the characteristics of the old style.
I actually quite liked Wolf's Rain, even as it had very lazy and stiff animation.
I never were into Dragon Ball, so don't understand the 'hype' But a lot of current fighter gamers grew up to it, so I guess it's a thing for them.
As even the polished look in the game ,more or less seem to keep a bit of the old style, just as old fans like it, then polish it all up.
Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto, Mushishi, Hyouge Mono, Bakuman, 91 Days and a few like that is what makes me really satisfied.
But enough OT from me. It were fun to talk no another one interested in animes old styles vs new.
Now the real question is: how would they adapt the games, especially the first ones? Would they make story arcs based on each character's story, including time loops, plus the True End to sum it all up at the end of the season? Or would they put the events into a more sequential structure, a bit like BBCP's and BBCF's structure? If it's the latter, they might have a lot of work not to make it feel bland, inconsistent or worse, confusing.
I hope BlazBlue: Causal Chain (or however they may want to call it... Causal History?) will become a thing, with Production I.G. behind it. Otherwise, I'm afraid it will end up like BlazBlue: Alter Memory.
