is this game easier than guilty gear?
Dont get me wrong, guilty gear is hype as hell but i feel like its way too complicated for me. Is blazblue easier while maintaining a high skill ceiling? (unist player btw)

Yes. You have stylish option for that.

I doubt that's the answer OP expected... And GGXrd also has Stylish mode.

Don't fully quote me on this since I'm not an expert at fighting games, but BlazBlue should be a bit easier than GGXrd due to slightly less complicated game mechanics. For instance, there are no Roman Cancels, but there is Overdrive and Action Flow. It might be slightly more complicated than UNIEL[st] though, with a lack of autocombo on A (Stylish mode aside), but I haven't played the latter enough to say for sure.

Easier in low and Mid Level, probably harder in High level, but all FGs are freaking hard at High Level, SFV aside.

As a person who played Guilty Gear since Guilty Gear X2 RELOADED, I can say that this game isn't merciful to new players. You get put in the game, your only help is your skills. I was around 11-12 when I played this game and I was just spamming the keyboard so bad it would have cried if it had feelings as the game is very difficult to master even against the bots. But on the bright side, I could still create some small combos that would be useful anyway to keep me alive for at least a respectable amount of seconds (10-15-18 seconds but I'd consider that alot for noobs when fighting very tough challenges). In Blazblue, I find doing that useless. I feel like you need to know the right path to perform a combo, while in Guilty Gear I could create one anyway I'd mess my fingers with the attack buttons. But yeah with the stylish mode is very easy, feeling like the game being your sensei guiding you as the apprentice to the right path (combos in this way) which is more "following-game-pros" friendly (or noobs but hey nobody really likes that word). It's up to you now which game's to your heart's content. Tho if you'd love to know how to play Guilty Gear, my advice is to learn from the bots first. Smash that hardest difficulty and give your skills a workout by learning combos bots do. After that, you can be the creator of your own moves, as I feel the game allows that unlike Blazblue, where I feel like everyone follows the same fighting plan (it's just my opinion, so don't come and bite me in the ass for it). You know you're ready when you can perform Dizzy's specials with combos faster than freaking Sonic (back in GGX2 RE they were truly a nightmare to perform, now I don't even have the slightiest clue as I've been retired from fighting games a long time but just giving an example). So, putting all stories aside and answering your question, YES. Blazblue is easier than Guilty Gear thanks to the stylish mode.

Guilty Gear has more system mechanics that apply to the neutral game, while BlazBlue has a larger burden regarding matchup knowledge and faster gameplay.

So if you feel that Guilty Gear is too complicated for you, then you might feel that BlazBlue is too.

To put it in a very quick but sufficiently understandable way: Guilty Gear's universal mechanics require more time to learn, whereas BlazBlue has a lot more regarding character specifics. Starting from grasping a character's own drive to the aforementioned match-up knowledge. So, in a way, Guilty Gear is a little easier to get into. In addition, GG leaves more room for improvisation and personalization of your playstyle. Also, most of the time, you can do just fine with intermediate level combos even online, whereas in BB you won't get far without advanced stuff even against its AI.

Edit: I would strongly advise to forgo stylish mode in either game if you ever plan to play it seriously. It creates quite bad habits which are VERY difficult to lose.

I agree with what everyone is saying here. I personally find Blazblue overall more difficult to play, especially when considering the strict timing with combos and match ups. I feel the character gameplay and vast diversity throughout the cast is what really intrigues me about Blazblue, though. I think It's awesome to have 28 different characters, all with drives unique to themselves, and majority of them all (with the exception of the Murakumo Units) feel distinctively different. Awesome game overall, I just suck horribly at it :steamsad:

Easier compared to GGACPR+, harder than Sign or Rev, much harder than the new one coming, if they keep that playstyle they showed some days ago.
IMO no not really, both games are pretty hard to play at high levels. I think BB is a more rewarding and exciting experience though. The pacing of the matches has always felt much better to me and it actually saddens me that BB is the less popular title.

Why do people keep saying "yes due to stylish mode"? It's literally in both games.

No Guilty Gear and blazblue are just as hard at high level play. Both games require insane knowledge of a wide variaty of characters, option selects, strong situational awareness, neutral and how to use the game mechanics to your advantage. Difference is Guilty Gear is more reliant on faster punishes, holding momentum and proper use of meter where as Blazblue is leaning more towards high execution and getting the most out of your confirms.

However in Beginner Levels both games are totally different. Blazblue is much easier at low level because both players can be ignorant of the mechanics and the characters will feel reletively balanced and easy opposed to Guilty Gear where at low level combos are very hard and characters like Leo, Ram and Raven feel broken.
