Sprites

So just for context, I love Blazblue as a series. Aside from Cross Tag Battle which was such a huge departure from the usual formula that it was unfun, I've loved every Blazblue game from Continuum Shift onwards. One thing that has disappointed me in newer additions though is that they never update the old sprites. If they do update them (which I've been as of yet unable to notice) it's not like the quality went up by a huge margin and despite them having such a talented art crew the sprites in game have always been kinda lacklustre.

So I was just wondering if anyone knew of any mods that upgraded the Sprites? I was hoping that CTB would have had the sprites updated to around the Quality of the RWBY ones but it was not the case. In comparison to a lot of the UNIB and RWBY sprites in CTB, the Blazblue sprites are incredibly disappointing and for the short time I played that game was part of the reason that I avoided playing my beloved Blazblue characters.

But now, I'm back playing more Centralfiction because the game is just so much more fun than Crosstag. And as such I was just wondering if anyone had or knew of any mods that upgrade the sprites to be more like the RWBY ones

AFAIK there's no mod to make the sprites look much better, that's why they would technically have to redraw them entirely (which costs a lot of money they probably have but won't spend here because the payback is minimal).

You can still enable the sprite filtering in the options to make them look smoother than with the default nearest neighbour algorithm, but that still won't make them as smooth as the 1080p RWBY sprites.

I know, that's why I was wondering if there was one. I didn't think so, but hey there was the possibility. I just wish AkSys would make a Blazblue HD Collection that just bundles all the games with CF combat and roster but with updated sprites and backgrounds. I'd pay the ♥♥♥♥ outta that game, and yes I meant pay. So much money.

Same here, but they seem done with Ragna's arc, so I doubt they'll make such an updated collection sadly.

Yea, it's sad. If they wanted to leave Ragna behind they could make an updated collection where it follows Jin and Noel as the Secondary and Tertiary Protagonists, since they're involved in most of the main plot points anyway, and are interesting characters in their own right. But that's just my wishful thinking

I think what they mean by Ragna's arc is "the part of the story centered around him", for all we know the next BlazBlue games might have Naoto as the protagonist (and will likely not be fighting games, from what I remember reading).

Maybe? At least in the fighting games department, BBTAG is probably going to be the last BlazBlue fighting game. But they said the series would still go on, just through different means.
