Jubei questions.
Is a good character to start? Would be difficult to use? How is he ranked? Do you feel he's pretty strong or weak?

Why are you asking this on Steam forums? PC version didn't get neither Jubei nor CF2.0 yet, so PC users that don't have PS4 or the game on the console never had actual chance to try him out. I'm fairly sure, there should be Jubei Discord, where you can ask questions to people who played him.

Jubei is very technical. That's all I know.

Yeah, what they said, he's more technical, and will usually require to spend meter to use his advanced skills. (More or less, rather his install distorition which takes effect the entire round.)

Also FlyingTorpedoWhale, he'll be coming in a couple days now, so...yeah, lol.

Jubei has a rather odd property to him. Basically he's tiny therefore he can low profile a lot of stuff. There's a video showing how when he's in a full run dash, he can go under Valkenhayn's crouching A.

However, to compensate for this, whenever he's hit during standing, he's considered to be crouching, meaning every standing combo gets +2 frames of hitstun, leading to some pretty nasty combos against him most of the time, with some combos that work only him. Think of Jin's ice moves, they usually force his opponent back into a standing state, even on air hit, so against jubei, Jin would be able to start an air combo and turn it into a crouching combo, which isn't normally possible.

Also leads to some dumb nonsense. A fellow Tager player confirmed that j.2C Fatal Counter can lead you to do [3C > 22D] five times over due to how gadget finger normally drops them into standing hitstun, but gives crouching in this instance. Trollish, but kinda funny.
Consider Immovable Object: Lotus. It gives you more combo potential in the air and on the ground, but it gives you an arguably worse drive since it comes out slower. Don't be relying on your drive too much if you go into Lotus, because it will screw you over.

unless you have overdrive, where you can cancel out of the last hit of drive.

it's a tough call to make, because while i hate how the drive changes, i love the cancelling added to his other moves

I meant for basic combos. I always combo ⬇️➡️C 2nd hit into Standing D, and then to Form One: Shadow Wolf to keep a short distance with the enemy. I rarely use Rending Hooks at mid screen because the close distance makes it easier for Rising Justice to stun lock the enemy into more options, including Form Two: Demon Fox and the charged version of Form Four: Black Panther.
