Game hangs if I Alt-Tab after Creator Windows 10 Update

As title suggests, if I try to change windows while BB is active, computer hangs and I have to hard shutdown. This is happening after the last Windows 10 update.

Can anyone suggest a fix please?

What's your specs? I don't get this at all. I've tried it in Windowed, Full Windowed, and Fullscreen and have never had that issue.

I'm tempted to say that it's your hard drive maxing out, but mine is 5400RPM, so that probably isn't it. It may be that you don't have enough RAM or your CPU, but I can't know until I know your specs.

Graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 840M
Processor is intelcore i7 4700 CPU @ 2.40 GHz
I have 8GB of ram

BB always ran just fine before until this stupid update.

That's really odd. Your specs are all above mine. Are you running in fullscreen, windowed, or full windowed?

I've been running it in fullscreen all this time. Now I'm trying to make it to windowed from the game options but as soon as I press confirm my whole pc hangs and the only way to stop it is to hard reset.

Does this happen in fullscreen for other games? It certainly sounds like your PC has troubles going from exclusive fullscreen to windowed.

Bear in mind that some games don't go proper exclusive fullscreen, they sometimes will go borderless windowed.

Hm, that's certainly odd. I'm not sure what it could be. Try doing this:
1) Press Windows Key+R
2) Type services.msc and click ok
3) FInd touch keyboard and handwriting panel
4) Right click it and click stop
5) Right click it again and click Properties
6) Change automatic or manual to disabled.

Because it takes up extra RAM as a service, so it causes problems in a lot of games that need it. It causes issues like crashing and what you're experiencing right now.

Not saying that this will be 100% guaranteed to fix it, but it's still worth a shot if it has a chance to.

Nope, no change. At this point I'm worried hard resetting so many time might damage my pc. Idiotic microsoft trying to fix stuff that isn't broken smh

I agree, I hate the Creator's Update as well. It actually lowered my gaming performance by a whole lot, forcing me to revert some newer games from 720p to 800x600 or lower.

I'm not sure if it'll help any, but you may want to try resetting the graphics settings in-game as a launch option. I don't know the code off the top of my head here, but I'll find it really quick and let you know what it is.

*After implementing this update, you can force the game to boot up with the display settings set to default by the following method:
1) Open up the Steam client, under "Library", right click on the game "BlazBlue Centralfiction", and proceed to "Properties".
2) Under "General" tab, click on "Set Launch Options".
3) In the text box, enter "-resetdisplay" and close the window.
4) Boot up the game.
5) After confirming the game has booted up with all display settings set to default, change any one game options to trigger a data save.
6) Exit the game, and delete away the parameters entered in (3).

I honestly forgot if the default graphics settings were fullscreen, but it's still worth a try just in case.

Thank you very much Shizuku for your continued help. Unfortunately none of these worked. I believe the problem is compatibility related, but who knows.

Anyway I got it to work by reverting to the older version of Windows before the update. I think I'll be turning off updates for a while lol.
