Now it is an iffy subject because it'd ruin the community. For whatever reason, some people think it's okay to go online with mods and never turn them off.
I think it was Melty Blood or UNIEL where the devs literally had to ask people to disable mods when playing online because of it.
Now for offline play or playing with friends, mods would be a blast. For one, you can have custom character mods to have different balancing.
For instance, Ragna could have damages, stun, and hitboxes adjusted to suit a rushdown playstyle, but then color 2 would turn on a zoning playstyle, and so on. That'd be interesting to see.
Or maybe even a mod that lets you choose what version of the characters to play as (Such as CT, CS, CS2, CSEX, CP, CPEX, and CF versions) from the color pallete selection (And the costume would stay the same, it'd just load a different character).
It's a really interesting idea, if only we had more people willing to extract the files and hex edit them.
Ok, so it wasn't a absoultuly terrible idea, I was thinking of characters being created from somewhat scratch (either from previous data from Blazblue games or from other 2D fighting games or even just characters from say, maybe mugen) but different versions of previous characters ain't too bad either. But yeah, I definatly would want any custom made characters to be balanced (though I'm sure that can be wishful thinking since well, it's the internet). And yeah more people willing to do it would be nice. Sadly, I don't have the skills to do such a thing as modding.
Though at the same time, I want to see if the modding community really will grow. Even if it's small steps at first, it could certainly help the game's lifespan.
Yeah, I'm impressed that someone made a boost performance mod for this game. Was great for me since it would slow down in the past. Personally for me though, (and forgive me if this sounds selfish) I'd like a character made for me based off an orginal character I've made that I think would work great in Blazblue (I will stress though it's what I personally think, and I could be wrong but, hard to say right now). I actually got a black and white picture of a kinda prototype design for him. I'd just make some requests on how I want him to play (a key thing is making him balanced) and just go at it (even if it's just offline). I just can't find a male character I can get myself attached to (not that they're all bad, though some of them could really use some work personallity wise *cough* Ragna). Sorry if it sounds selfish or stuff, but I'd think it be really cool.
Maybe, but it's only recently did a Blazblue game even get mods like custom colors and boost performances. There may not be any that exist at the moment.
There's definitely been modding before BBCF. CPEX had that one guy modding Takemikazuchi in online, and CT/CSEX even have full-on story and super move mods.
Ahh, toxicity, always fun, still, might as well try I guess, thanks.
Good luck on learning to mod the game!
Thanks : )
And making custom super moves and story mode mods? Those probably involved a lot of modding.
It would mess up the balance only slightly, but you could easily change the modded character to fit in. And no, MUGEN isn't better for this kinda stuff. MUGEN is a horrible engine that provides one of the worst coding languages to create fighting games with. There's also almost no characters whatsoever because creators always keep their cool characters to themselves. Oh yeah, and the BlazBlue MUGEN characters are cringe. They're all buggy and inaccurate to the game (Like a glitchy Jin with lightning. Didn't know Jin became Ky after CF ended).
Despite what people think, this isn't confirmed to be the last BlazBlue game. It's the last canonical BlazBlue game, sure, but not the last BlazBlue game.
Also, if you're exclusively talking about an easier part of my message to contradict based on situational evidence, that's called cherry-picking. I'll wait for you to address the rest of my message before I even put any more time into discussing this with you.
