Add English dubbing, please!
In the previous 3 BB games, English actors made a GREAT job dubbing the characters; so, it's a terrible lack that this game has only Japanese audio. ARC System Works, fix this please (engaging again the same voices of the past) ... and correct all the graphics issues reported by your customers (look at the reviews of Central Fiction).

This series deserve a good final chapter; you can do it if you want.

actually, overall quality wise (Casting, Direction, Editing, portrayal) they were about the same.. both the English and Japanese had some good characters, some total flops, and a fair bit of average ones..
I agree, there were a few good or average english ones, namely Ragna, Jin, Azrael, the best one I liked was Bullet's, Taokaka, Platinum, and Bang were always horrible to listen to in english, and I just plain hate Yuri Lowenthal

My main issue with ♥♥♥ dub only is I can't understand the characters when they are fighting. I actually enjoy hearing what they say and understand it because very often character interactions are often relating to one another. As much as I want to learn japanese, I actually very often prefer english VA as I can actually say a lot of japanese dubs can be ear torture (their ever present love of high pitch screechs is not ok). As for Blazblue, the voice acting was in my opinion always good.

I will content one thing: how can you vounch for Japanese dub if you can't understand it? Can't translate it and gather their subtle jokes and japanese versions of "play on words"? Can't gather anything from when they put effort into a word because it is meaningless to us english speakers and means not only do we not understand it but further more don't know if the effort was warranted. (hell, american choice of emphasis on words is completely different to the UK). Saying "♥♥♥ is better" is a very narrow mind. It's like saying 'Right is better' in an arguement for wihch hand to use.

I would further contend that the presence of a need in anime for a subbing community further indicates a lack of importance on voice acting in japanese. Most of the story we actually read then post-delivery add our reaction from what happened.

I would actually say that I would not agree wanting to wait for english dubbing to finish however a patch down the line would be nice.
Oh and for those who say ♥♥♥ is better. Please listen to the annoucer saying character names. It is really REALLY painful as those who aren't actually japanese based (and even then...) are so hideous to listen to. Chronophantasma's Engrish of "Bur-ret" was just painful. And awkward. If the japanese VAs for this had the talent of the Assassination Classroom VAs (who on a good few occassions speak english and despite bieng partly broken was quite impressive) then maybe then.

On the whole, I prefer knowing what insult Azrael just throw out or quip Terumi gave along with understanding what they are exchanging during their intros.

Again, if you can understand what they are saying without subs then kudos to you as you can make the decision what's better for you in terms of preference. Personally, English please but if Japanese floats your boat then power to ya (row row)

You have just proven that you don't understand anything about subs and why Japanese dubs are so liked.

English dub sounds even worse though. Not only does English language sound even worse than ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, the voices are weird and don't fit the characters, and the acting is cheesy. Definitely not worth the delay.
the Japanese cast had just as many poor casting choices as the english cast..

quality of voice overs is not based off of "language", but Casting, Direction, Editing, and Presentation.. in the case of Blazblue, both dubs had their ups and downs..

I really do sometimes feel that the "Japanese dub always better" crowd aren't actually familiar enough with the language to gauge the quality of the voice work.. I have seen some Media where the Japanese dub is better, and other where the english is better.. in the case of Blazblue, the overall quality of both is about the same as some were good casting choices others not so much (and I say this as someone quite familiar with the Japanese language, who used to import games from Japan for the sole purpose of comparing them to localized releases)..

as for your "sounding cheesy" statement, that is intentional and is present on both dubs (in the same scenes)..

My main issue with dubs is that I feel like English voice actors usually don't sound like the characters, but like voice actors acting if that makes any sense. That is purely based on the sound and delivery itself tho and just my personal opinion, and there are exceptions to this ( altho very rare ) where the English version is better imo. And then there are also cases where I just don't like either. Ed's voice from FMA and FMAB is a great example of a case where I don't buy the voice of either voice actors. I think that they're both awful and completely unbearable. But then there are gems like Al's voice in English who does an AMAZING job.
And an example from the same show of '' an adult doing a childs voice '' would be May in English, I don't buy her delivery at all whatsoever.

But when it comes to kids especially, or people trying to sound tough etc. I just feel like English voice actors in dubs almost always with very few exceptions sound like adults trying to sound like children or going out of their way to sound tough, it doesn't come across as natural in the slightest to me while I think that the Japanese usually sell the characters with their voices better imo.

And then there's cases like Ramlethal from Guilty Gear too, I absolutely love the Japanese voice actress but can't freaking stand the English one. But they also voice the character completely differently, they're not even remotely close to the same tone of voice.

I think that the main issue with dubs boils down to the points that you brought up, '' Casting, Direction, Editing, and Presentation ''. I think that having the actual devs etc close at hand makes for a better project and makes a huge difference. The more the better.

This is also a case of Eng -> ♥♥♥.
I don't prefer Japanese voice acting in Japanese games '' cuz Weeaboo ''. I do it because I just genuinly usually find the original cast better. The exact same thing goes the other way around, there really isn't any conspiracy behind it. It's really just that simple.
English being dubbed into Japanese usually ends up being awful imo too, I just feel like dubbing over into another language is usually done by the B team and it's extremely noticeable.

Altho in all fairness. I actually do think that the dubs have gotten better with time.
And there are a lot more good voice actors around doing proper work in dubs nowadays than there used to be.
It used to be A LOT worse.
And bad localization / translations is by far a greater concern of mine.

This means they cut it because of rushing date of release. If they care at all then they could release english dub as dlc later. If the game sells badly they may think it isn't worth releasing, or they may realize that the dub does matter. It won't be in normal patch, but it may be part of some expansion.

Only insecure people call others weeaboos to create some sort of a reason they can use to berate those who like Japanese subcultures. Not only is it a behavior that should not be tolerated or even encouraged, it also kills any kind of argument they have.

Kugrond, they had close to a year to make an English dub if they wanted to. They didn't. Despite all the outrage that was already there. You'd be very naive to wait for it to happen knowing that.

Then either you or OP probably should write an e-mail to them.
Leaves this vulnerable to open discussion otherwise.

Congratulations to sounding like a complete ass btw.

Honestly, I've been a fan of BlazBlue for a while and it's like the English voice actor for Ragna himself said, fans of the story aspect have gone years listening to these guys and ultimately they couldn't voice the presumably final game. It's kind of a let down for me. I'm sure the game is awesome, and I'm probably in the minority, but I really enjoyed the English voice acting and the story.

I would be so happy if they did a dub one day, as unlikely as it is.
Cheers 29 abr. 2017 às 11:36
Pay ASW to dub it then
