Hold fire?

I just got this game and was wondering if there was a way to tell troops to hold their fire instead of fireing at everything they see, I was trying to sneak through the forest areas but my troops just fire 1 million rounds per minute once a enemy becomes visible to their eye.

If you dont how to, just look at t he bottom of the screen when you select a unit and click on the weapon icon of whichever one you want to turn off
